Peak Bloodstock - From Start to Finish

Super Solwhit Caps Festival Wins for PEAK BLOODSTIOCK LTD.

"A true run race, a positive ride and a horse with lots of ability." Those are the reasons which trainer Charles Byrnes attributed to Solwhit's 4th Grade 1 win over hurdles. He has now beaten the winner of the 2007, 2008, and 2009 Cheltenham Champion Hurdles. In his last 3 runs he beat Punjabi and Celestial Halo at Punchestown and Aintree respectively, he had Binocular behind him at Newcastle in the Fighting Fifth and has now defeated the regeining December Hurdle Holder Sublimity.

Sourced by PEAK BLOODSTOCK Ltd. he always looked a nice horse and hopes were high from an early stage that he would progress along the right lines. To achieve 10 wins, 4 grade 1 wins and amass over 500,000euro in prize money is beyond what anybody involved could have expected, and now here he is, joint favourite for the 2010 Champion Hurdle and a real hero for connections and his ever growing band of supporters.

His manner of defeating Sublimity in the Festiveal Hurdle wll surely add to his followers belief of a big run at Cheltenham, as he had to take up the running some distance out and although never headed he put his head down and battled to shake off the presence of Sublimity after the last hurdle. This batteling spirit and his ability to get a trip of longer than 2 miles on a variety of grounds adds further hope that Solwhit can join the likes of Brave Inca, Hardy Eustace, Sublimity and Istabraq among others who have won the December hurdle at Leopardstown and the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham.

His next aim looks to be the Toshiba Grade 1 Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown and then the big one at Cheltenham in March.

Solwhits win at Christmas added to PEAK BLOODSTOCK's impressive haul over the festive period. Quiamo Malta won a competitive maiden at Limerick on his Irish debut, River Liane was 2nd in his Grade 2 novice chase at Limerick and with some more nice enteries over the New Year race meetings, hopes are high for further success.

Congratulations must go to all connections and fingers crossed for more success in 2010.
