Christmas Hopes High for PEAK BLOODSTOCK Ltd Horses.
As the Christmas festivities begin in earnest, many racing enthusiasts will be looking forward to their "Real Christmas"beginning on St. Stephens Day at Leopardstown, Limerick and Down Royal.
The Christmas Racing festivals tend to give significant pointers to the rest of the season, with many of the juveniles and novices adding their own blend of spice and all things nice to the Christmas table.
This year, more than previously, PEAK BLOODSTOCK are represented by some exciting novices and truely established stars.
The novices begin on St. Stephens Day with River Liane perhaps taking on Sizing Europe and Captain Cee Bee in their novice chase, he also has a tasty entry in the Grade 2 Guinnes Greenmount Novice Chase at Limerick on the same day, added to which Quiamo Malta will bid to make his Irish debut for Paul Nolan in either Leopardstown or Limerick in a maiden hurdle. What a great start that would be for two very busy trainers Tom Cooper and Paul Nolan.
The exciting Roi Toscan, will aim to make amends for his early exit in Gowran, and currently has enteries for both the 26th and 27th at Leopardstown, and while we will need a good supply of tv screens hopes are also high that Chasse Spleen for Eoin Doyle and Kai Li for Lar Butler, two very hard working and progressive trainers, can get off the mark over fences at either Down Royal or Limerick.
The older horses take more of the limelight on Sunday the 27th where Querios Bleu has an entry in the Paddy Power Chase for the red hot trainer Henry de Bromhead, and while his Irish form to date has not yet lived up to expectations, this very talented horse will hopefully show his true colours.
Lucky Wish and Valiquest look set to take centre stage on Monday the 28th for trainer Eoin Griffin, who after a fantastic win in Ascot recently will hope to continue his winning trend with both these two talented geldings. Lucky Wish has an interesting entry in the Grade 1 Frank Knight Novice Chase and Valiquest will put his experience to use in the Novice Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown.
Tuesday the 29th provides, perhaps, PEAK BLOODSTOCK'S most high profile horse in Solwhit, taking on the rest in the Grade 1 Festival Hurdle. His chances of vistory have been perhaps increased by the recent deflection of Hurricane Fly, but he must still battle it out against last years winner Sublimity, Colm Murphy's exciting mare Voler La Vedette (Beat Go Native last time out) Noel Meade's Champion hurdle 5th Muirhead and the very talented Jumbo Rio to name but a few. Qualviro adds an extra edge to the day with hius connections looking forward to his second run over fence, having hated the ground when previously 6th to Sports Line on his debut.
The fun continues later in the festival period to Tramore, Fiaryhouse and Punchestown for the New Years Eve and New Years Day fixtures, where we are well represented by the return of Glencove Marina in a conditions hurdle for trainer Willie Mullins.Recent p2p winner Foot The Bill gets his debut under NH rules for Henry de Bromhead in Tramore in a hot looking maiden hurdle , while Romanesco, also in the care of Henry de Bromhead and an emphatic winner of his p2p, gets a much anticipated start on the track in a bumper at Fairyhouse on the 1st of Jan. What a way that would be to begin 2010.
On that note, we would like to wish all our loyal customers and dear friends a very " Happy Christmas and New Year" and look forward in earnest to some great success for all our patrons in the year to come.Wrap up well and drive safely!!
