Peak Bloodstock - From Start to Finish

River Liane Maintains Consistent Record in Grade 2 Novice Chase at Limerick.

Having decided to miss the Grade 1 Chase at Leopardstow, River Liane took on the likes of Dancing Tornado, Oscar Looby, Faltering Fullback, Coolcashin and his old foe Beau Michael in The Guinness Greenmount Novice Chase at Limerick.

In a strongly run race, River Liane looked to be travelling well entering the home straight, where they bypassed the 2nd last fence in heavy ground, only to be collared by Dancing Tornado, to finish 2nd. River liane has now won a listed hurdle and been placed in The Toshiba Irish Champion Hurdle Grade1 and now a Grade 2 novice chase. He is a model of true consistency and a good look at his form shows him in very high regard with the top novice chasers this season.

He had previously accounted for the opposition, which included An Cathaoir Mor (Since 3rd to Captain Cee Bee) and Sorceror (4th to Captain Cee Bee) in his beginners Chase before this race, only his second outing over the larger obstacles.

His beginners chase form has a quality look to it seeing the way that Captain Cee Bee was travelling when coming to grief at the last fence at Leopardstown, when he appeared to have one of the big hopes for the Arkle in March, Sizing Europe, in his sights.

Better ground has always brought out the best in the son of River Bay, and in the hands od his astute trainer Tom Cooper, he will surely be well placed over the next 2 months to provide his owners Valerie and Eamon Courtney with some more exciting times.
