Irish Soccer Players Team Up With Trainer Eoin Griffin and PEAK BLOODSTOCK For Victory

St. Devote,owned by a syndicate of Irish International Soccer Players, trained by Eoin Griffin and sourced by Sean Tiernan of PEAK BLOODSTOCK Ltd. gained his first success yesterday 27th August at Bellowstown in only his 3rd racecourse start.

St. Devote, who had previously finished 2nd to Whispering Hills in his bumper, gained a smooth and comprehensive success at the Bellowstown 2 day Festival yesterday 27th August. The horse is owned by a syndicate of Irish Soccer Team players, headed by Manchester United star John O’ Shea. John, a local neighbour of trainer Eoin Griffin’s could not make the occasion due to a big club fixture at the weekend, but was understandably delighted with the syndicate’s first winner. The horse was sourced and selected by Sean Tiernan of PEAK BLOODSTOCK Ltd for trainer Eoin Griffin and was bought through their established contacts in France for Eoin in 2006. He was also pre trained at PEAK BLOODSTOCK’S yard in Wexford before going into training with Eoin. He looks a proper horse with a real future ahead of him, and while plans are not definite for his next run, the suggestion is that he will travel to the UK to make it easier for the owners to watch him run. The other syndicate members include, Stephen Hunt, Kevin Doyle, Shay Given and Damian Duff.

While John O’ Sheas manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, is a well known figure in racing circles, St. Devote is some of the players first taste of racing and credit must go to all concerned in providing a great start to all their racing careers.

St. Devote, has a sporting name also, as he was named after a tight corner on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit by trainer Eoin Griffin.

PEAK BLOODSTOCK and Eoin Griffin have previously teamed up to provide many illustrious winners with horses such as Lounaos, Academy Sir Harry, Artiste Bay, Finicius and many more. Hopes now turn to the horses next run and perhaps a battle with one of John O’ Shea’s famous manager’s horses.
