3rd Quarter 2008

SALES MATTERS

The following is a statement you may have heard over the last six months: “2008 has seen a decline in the figures for horses sold, the prices being paid and the number of buyers on the market”. The following is another statement which usually precedes the first one” Ireland is in a state of recession which is influencing consumer spending”. Sound familiar?

However what is not being said is just as important as the above 2 statements.

We believe that “there is quality available now at a price which was unaffordable over the past 2 to 4 years” and “Horse owners now want a better class of horse and ultimately winners”.

Until recently there were some horse owners willing to take a chance on buying small horses with no pedigree or scope as they could afford to take the risk in the hope they would unearth a champion at a bargain price. We are now in different economic times, but not because owners do not have the money to spend, but rather that they want the complete package, i.e.; good looking horses with proven pedigrees or horses with form proven on the track. Take away the risk and people will buy.

Taking away the risk is what PEAK BLOODSTOCK is here for. Take the facts; we have a 100% record with horses sold through us on the track in Ireland. Every horse has won or been placed. No Risk!

Question: So what do we do to take away the risk?

Answer: A simple and effective process and genuine hard work:

Process:

  1. We source from the top quality end of the market.
  2. We evaluate pedigree and breeding of every horse.
  3. We scrutinise our horses conformation and health (Body and Mind)
  4. We recommend horses which have passed the first 3 steps, but only if we feel they are value for money.
  5. We care about our horses and our owners.

We believe that the Horse Racing Industry is in a process of change. Gone are the days when it was an elitist sport, gone too are the days when so many people in Ireland and England owned a horse or a bit of a horse.

Now is the time when people who want to own good horses at value prices can come to the table. In line with this, we have believed for many years that winners and champions can be purchased at value prices.

Over the 2007 and 2008 season we have been associated with:

These races include: Boyne Hurdle, Tied Cottage Chase, Grade 2 novice chase, Grade 1 novice hurdle, placed in Grade 1 champion bumper and placed in Grade 1 world hurdle.

There are very few agents in the industry who can claim these successes over the past season. We are justifiably proud of our achievements but at the same time we believe we can do better! Our aim is to continue our 100% record and to help existing and new clients in the purchase of the horses which suit their needs.
